The 8th house: sudden gains, losses and other people's money
The 8th house is the house of the unexpected: inheritance, insurance, taxes, partner's wealth and abrupt reversals. For traders and founders it is often read alongside the 11th (gains) and the 5th (speculation).
Tentative patterns
- Benefic influence on the 8th is often associated with windfalls or hidden resources.
- Malefic stress, especially during the dashas of 8th-house lords, is commonly read as a period to reduce leverage.
- The 8th lord in the 11th, or the reverse, is traditionally linked with irregular, lumpy income.
